Lorem ipsum is a placeholder text commonly used in the graphic, print, and publishing industries for previewing layouts and visual mockups. The phrase "lorem ipsum" is derived from a scrambled section of "De finibus bonorum et malorum," a work by the Roman statesman and philosopher Cicero, written in 45 BC. This text has been used since the 1960s as a standard dummy text to help designers and typographers visualize how text will appear in a design without the distraction of meaningful content.
